Are All Guys Slobs? (Part One)

This picture is not of any room in my dorm, though it bears a striking resemblance to some of them.

I just finished my room checks, and I'm really concerned about what I'm seeing. I've been blessed with roommates ranging from not-too-sloppy (Aaron Hale) to perfectionist (the Wretch), and I'm somewhere in the middle. [And when I say perfectionist, I'm not exaggerating. When we wanted to bug him, we would rotate his mug in its place on his dresser or move an empty hanger from one side of the rack to the other. He always noticed immediately.] So I don't understand firsthand the irrational desire some guys have to live in trashy rooms. I've certainly observed it, though.

This concerns me for several reasons, which I shall discuss in the promised Part Two post. But right now, I'm just looking for feedback. Is this a guy thing? My sister isn't a neat freak, but her room is generally well-ordered. Girls, is this messiness found only in the Y chromosomes? Guys, am I really in the minute minority because I desire things to be at least relatively neat? I'm looking for answers.

i'm with you, i hate anything completely wrecked. i don't mind a little bit of disorganisation, just for excitement and character, but if it's out of hand i get irritated.

um no girls get way sloppy too. I like things neat, but if I don't have time my room is often a disaster. Like for the first half of the semester I made sure stuff was clean all the time but now I just don't care. I can't wait for white glove though cuz that forces me to be clean.

hehe. I can prioritize neatness and perfection in some areas, but I am definately a mess when it comes to my room.(My sister and I share.) I think the organizational skills of a person relates more to personality rather than gender. I know it's something I need to work on. Now I'm feeling guilty. I should go clean my room.
