Breathe In, Breathe Out

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly things can change. My last twenty-four hours have been a blur. A little sleep, running through classes knowing the whole time I had a project due today that was not yet done, taking an accounting test I hadn't even begun to study for, having to pass the students decorating for Christmas without helping for the first time, waiting for the hopelessly crippled yearbook computer to load so I could meet tomorrow morning's deadline. The only refuge I had during this time was knowing the pace couldn't keep up much longer because everything had to be done today.

And they were. I pulled the project (due at 5:00) off the printer at 5:04 and ran it down the hall to Dr. Saxon, who graciously waived the late penalty (remind me to blog about how much I like him). The next hour and a half was spent on the one good yearbook computer finishing my designs for this deadline. I left Main Building and experienced a feeling similar to that of emerging into the open air after being held underwater just a few seconds longer than I thought possible. I breathed. It was nice.

Then I spent the rest of the night without doing anything critical. And I won't be rushed for the rest of the weekend. Sure, I have projects and homework to do, but I have plenty of time to do them in. So what am I particularly thankful for this Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving break.

About Me

  • Currently calling Changchun, Jilin, China home.
  • You'll really find out the most about me by reading my posts, but a little background never hurt. I just graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Humanities. I plan to go to grad school eventually, but I'm taking a few years to teach English in China before I go back to school. And, um, you should just go read the blog now.
