Get Real

Yeah, um, nothing profound tonight. I really have way too much going on to even begin to put on here. God continues to surprise me.

Here's a tiny bit of what He's doing: I'm sick of talking. God has, over the last year and a half, become a real person I am getting to know. And personally experiencing God has made academic knowledge of Him obviously futile. I've begun sharing others' experience of God and desiring to share my experience of Him with others. So, we're meeting on campus. Next week, and every week after that God makes it possible.

If you want to share our experience, we would love to have you.

Finally-someone else who leaves a Bible class feeling as empty as I do. Love to talk anytime, love to listen too...

The duet you and Jason sang this morning was absolutely beautiful. A definite blessing to my heart.

Just a thought, but maybe that's the problem: you're only allowing what you gain from class to be academic knowledge of your Bible? I know that Joshua/ Judges with Saxon had a profound impact on my life, but not until I started personally appropriating what we were talking about in class regarding sin, holiness, faithfullness, and sanctification (among many other things that came up in class) into my life. Someone- who for the record after graduating from MBBC with his undergrad and NBBC with his masters doesn't really have a high opinion of either school- was asking me about what classes I liked most that I had been taking that semester (my contact with this person was that he married one of my friends). When I told him Joshua/ Judges, he asked, "What possibly could be gained as a New Testament Christian from a study of Joshua and Judges?" The answer: A LOT, if I allow God to help me personally apply it everyday of my life.

About Me

  • I'm justinic9 .
  • Currently calling Changchun, Jilin, China home.
  • You'll really find out the most about me by reading my posts, but a little background never hurt. I just graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Humanities. I plan to go to grad school eventually, but I'm taking a few years to teach English in China before I go back to school. And, um, you should just go read the blog now.
