No debate About This
This is somewhat related to my last post. As I promised at that post's conclusion, I went back to studying for my upcoming debate. And if you'll recall (or go check), I subtly hinted in that post that I was getting fed up with my study. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I'm really glad this world is not all I have to look forward to. Seriously, corrupt governments founded by sinful people in an attempt to rule other sinful people are not really all that exciting to investigate. And I love our nation. I love its laws. Come on, I plan to be a lawyer and make a career out of working in, through, and around the law, but even I get sick of it after a while.
That's what makes me so happy. See, this great nation isn't my permanent home. This government, no matter how worthy of our respect it may be, is no match for direct government by Jesus Christ. Nothing in this life is—not even the sleep I've been coveting of late. We have plenty of things to argue about—plenty of abuses to correct—with our human systems. One day, we'll be enjoying perfect rule.
So I plan to make the most of the opportunities God gives me in this life, to be a good steward of my resources, and, hopefully, to leave a godly testimony behind when I someday pass into that perfect place.
